This week we start a series in Romans. We won’t go verse by verse, but rather Patrick and I will be selecting key sections that when we understand them, plant the transforming good news of the gospel deep in our souls. In this podcast, we focus on what is perhaps the key verse in the entire letter – Romans 1:16,17.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this passage, and the word “live” keeps sticking out to me. The phrasing of that word is essential, but we love to focus more so on the word “righteous”. I don’t think it’s primarily an identity statement as we so often read it though. It’s way more hopeful and awesome. I’d summarize it as: “Have faith, and be alive! Go live in the abundance that is Christ in you!” It’s a blessing, a benediction.
